In 2020 he founded a communications parent company ProprioX in 2020. This company acts as a holding company for all of the brands he has created and serves as a communications platform to help brands home and communicate their messages to better reach the target market for their products and services.

How To Get Your First 1,000 Followers on Instagram (2020)!

In order to get your first 1,000 followers on Instagram, there are a few things you should know when you start to build an audience. After much success on instagram across multiple accounts, we are going to share some expert level advice that has worked for us.

First we recommend reading, understanding and learning about all of the in-depth features Instagram has to offer. This will give you a great start to understanding what types of content will perform best.

When you digest all of the information about posts, descriptions, hashtags, Instagram Stories, highlights, IG TV, the explore page, advertising and more, you will be able to take advantage of these tools to bring the greatest awareness to your page.

When creating a post on Instagram we recommend using around 20-30 of the highest performing (i.e) 50,000 or more #hashtags in your niche. This will give you the greatest exposure to those in your line of content. You may need to experiment with different posts to find the most active hashtags to achieve the greatest effects.

For those of you that are unaware — a hashtag is a “#” symbol with a word in front of it (#beach, #money, #women). Hashtags are commonly used on the internet to label data or describe a piece of content.

We recommend placing most, if not all your hashtags at the bottom of your post descriptions unless you are using one or two for a promotion. (Example — send us your best work or use #stockfootageplus to get featured!)

Another feature you can take advantage of on Instagram is the Instagram Stories. These are the circles above the main feed on the home page. Stories are a different way of sharing media on Instagram outside of posts and are only shared with the public for 24 hours; after that, the media is stored in your private archives.

Instagram Stories are great for sending out quick messages, posting real time media on-the-go, and sharing additional or bonus content. If understood properly, you can take major advantage of this feature to bring lots of awareness to your account.

Another feature you can take major advantage of to bring lots of awareness to your account is IG TV. If understood properly, you can create an entirely separate audience in IG TV for deeper content.

IG TV is a new feature that was recently added to Instagram in August 2018 that allows you to upload videos on Instagram up to 1 hour long, and no shorter than 15 seconds. This is a new separate feature, that before being in place, Instagram only allowed you to upload videos as posts up to 1 minute long (60 seconds). You can also click links in the IG TV descriptions where as in the post descriptions you can not.

Highlights are also a great technique of categorizing your content you’ve published on Instagram Stories. By marking a story as a highlight, Instagram features those highlights on your Instagram account under your bio in small circles. You can customize the names and images of the circles to look more appealing to visitors. We recommend creating at least 5 different highlights.

In order to be successful in content creation, you need to create compelling content: entertainment and escapism, or utility and value. The best include all four.

During the creation of a post, we recommend sharing your “two cents” about the media you are sharing at the top of your description. You don’t have to write too in depth, but also give some effort. The more value you bring the better… try and keep it brief so you can go more in depth later on. You also want to include a question or a call-to-action. A call-to-action will encourage engagement and boost the activity on your post organically.

We recommend formatting your descriptions easily readable.

Under your two cents is where you write about what unique quality your account has to offer.

Following the qualities is where you promote your other links, channels, and platforms on other social media websites; such as your facebook, youtube, twitter, website, email and any special offers you have to share.

Under your social links is where you can write attribution if your content is curated from other sources and any other meta descriptions. This is also where you should include your 20-30 #hashtags.

When successfully combining all of these techniques in your Instagram content strategy you have a highly likely chance of appearing on the explore page, where many accounts go viral or gain heavy exposure.

Instagram is a social network and should be treated as such… this is a place for you to actually connect with other people and build real relationships that can take you deeper than Instagram. We recommend connecting with as many people as possible (without bots) through old school engagement… liking, commenting, sharing and messaging to scale your brand and account one by one.
